Why I’m Sharing FLOW

I recently quit my job without a plan. I learned three things:

  • A job can also be the source of deep heartbreak

  • Sometimes you just get the shit end of the stick

  • Joy will never leave you

I heard Beyoncé say, “If we’re gonna heal, let it be glorious.”

FLOW was born out of the desire to gloriously accept this new beginning I’ve landed in. I wrote this book in the middle of many sleepless nights and wandering mornings. Now I’m sharing in hopes that my experience can be a map through the darkness.

It includes my process for moving through the fog plus guided reflections, creative exercises, a 21-day creative detox and a reading list with over 50 recommendations from radical voices.

This is my offering to everyone who does the work of liberation. I hope through FLOW you can uncover new pathways to freedom and find stability in the chaos of life.

Leaving you with this quote from Toni Morrison:

“I tell my students, 'When you get these jobs that you have been so brilliantly trained for, just remember that your real job is that if you are free, you need to free somebody else. If you have some power, then your job is to empower somebody else.”
